Mental Health Services
Community Action Partnershp's Mental Health Project offers a variety of social groups, befriending scheme, sporting activity and organic gardening, all aiming to enable recovery by providing the space and skills people need to cope with their difficulties, increase their confidence and self esteem and lead an independent life.
"Recovery…is about what was lost, rights, roles, responsibilities, decisions and support. It is not about symptom elimination, but about what an individual wants and how they can get there and how others can support them to get there. It is about rekindling hope for a productive present and rewarding future and believing that you deserve it."

Befriending Scheme
Our Befriending Scheme can support individuals to return to participating in everyday activities that they haven't been able to engage in for a while. For example to walk down the road to go shopping, go to a café for afternoon tea?
A trained volunteer will meet with the individual on a one to one basis to support their mental health difficulties and support individuals to plan their journey to achieve success. We aim that this will help individuals to develop new skills and increase their self esteem. Befriending offers that extra help that other services cannot provide i.e. the ability to offer additional support and encouragement.
The support offered varies depending on the individual but can include someone visiting at home for a coffee and chat, going shopping together, visiting places of interests, taking up new hobbies.
